The client was experiencing a persistent leak in the departure lounge, causing inconvenience and disruption. Our leak investigations used a combination of electronic leak testing and simulated rainfall testing. We located a number of breaches in the single ply waterproofing. Repairing them permanently stopped the leak, enabling operations to continue uninterrupted.

After London was battered by some the heaviest storms for many years, Westfield Shopping Centre developed more than a dozen leaks in retailing outlets. A Leak Investigation testing regime found that the causes of the leaks ranged from damage and poor installation of gutter linings to ineffective weatherproofing of the architectural panels cladding the walls.

Our Quality Assurance electronic integrity/leak testing on terraces, balconies and roofs at this residential development near the Olympic Park revealed many waterproofing breaches caused by damage sustained after installation. Repairs were undertaken prior to covering the waterproofings, making them watertight before handover to the Housing Association.

We conducted Quality Assurance electronic integrity/leak testing of the mastic asphalt and hot melt waterproofings across this central London regeneration project. The vast majority of breaches were caused by post-installation damage. Before covering the waterproofings repairs were carried out, removing liability for latent defects from the contractor who installed them.

During the Construction phase of a new classroom block, water had become entrapped within the roof. Dewatering probes were installed at strategic locations across the entire roof and we extracted in excess of 200 litres of water. The dewatering works negated the need to strip and replace what was otherwise a sound roof - saving the client many thousands of pounds.

During the defects liability period several leaks became apparent in this state-of-the-art college building. A Leak Investigation testing regime comprised of testing the rainwater services, flood and electronic integrity/leak testing of the waterproofings and simulated rainfall testing of glazing and walls. Leaks were detected across the building, so that the main contractor could fulfil his duties and repair them.

Roof leaks have been commonplace at many Sainsbury's stores nationwide, causing stock damage and disruption. Electronic integrity/leak testing on the roofs found breaches in the waterproof coverings where rain was penetrating into the stores. Sainsbury's Maintenance Roofing Contractor was then able to repair the breaches, resolving the leaks and allowing the stores to operate without further difficulty.
